It gives a mild, somewhat spicy smoke without too much aftertaste.
Oak gives smoked products a nice smoky colour.
Be sure to try it with beef!
Chunks or chunks?
The difference: chunks are fist-sized pieces better suited to giving off smoke over a longer period of time. If you want to smoke for a long time, it is better to use chunks. You get smoke over a longer period of time without having to add wood.
If you are going to grill your food or leave it on for less than one hour, use chunks.
